Things the gym doesn't teach you...... Feb 02, 2010
By Suzanne Madrid Worth every penny. You learn the correct way & can reproduce it at the gym. It's easy, it's well put together & I take it w/me to the gym.
Every woman should read this before attempting w/o a trainer. It's also nice to show your trainer when he is doing it all wrong, LOL

Great book - easy to read, understand Jan 31, 2010
By Linda F. I teach a fitness class for women over 50 and although this is not targeted to that age group specifically, many of the exercises parallel what we teach and passing the book around class and showing the women what muscle groups are being worked has help to motivate our group.

Very helpful Aug 24, 2009
By Hannah Shoshannah This book really helps me see my body, and work the muscles I need to in the gym. The pictures are great, the instructions clear, and the exercises chosen are safe, fun and effective.
It also helped me get much more out of the services of a professional trainer. I read ahead and knew what I wanted to work on, had practiced the exercises, and knew how they felt. The trainer then could add his broad knowledge and experience to my program. I've had a lot of injuries, and so I needed to be cautious about being pushed. This book helped me have the clarity to ask for what I needed and work out in a way that is safe for me.
It's a great supplement to an Anatomy and Physiology class. Why not visualize and feel in your own body what you are learning in class?

Very useful book for helping choose the right exercises! Dec 02, 2011

I bought this book around the same time that I got a weight lifting system because I wanted to know which exercises would help me work on specific muscles. Through this book, I was able to put together a workout plan where I wasn't losing time with multiple exercises that worked only the same muscles. The visual detail for each exercise is great and I like the information that is provided on how to do the exercise correctly and with 'good form.' This book covers a wide range of exercises, including stretches, exercises using a weight system, exercises using free weights, fitness ball exercises--even some aerobics, swimming, and walking.

Love this Jun 13, 2011

I am so glad I bought this book, not only they go over each muscle and function, but proper form which of coarse is very important when lifting weights, I have been doing weight training for over a year now 3-4 + a week and it brought me to curiousity on knowing my muscle and function and this explains it all! I wish I would have referred to this a lot sooner though with all the info this gave out.
