What can one say about a filter for the Drinkwell pet fountain? It fits, and it works. That's all there is of interest.

The carbon filter media from Drinkwell are superb. Having five Drinkwell units around the house for our eight cats, means they always have clean fresh water. The filter media keeps the water flowing and fresh for about 7-9 days. pulls out all foreign materials and catches the "goo" that usually invades other water systems. I found the only drawback of the filters were that they leave a black carbon residue in the base of the Drinkwell when first installed. Rinsing before first time installation seems to help. Good product at a fair price. Long lasting when compared to other systems.

These filters do a wonderful job of stopping dirt, hair, food and other junk from entering into the pump.
I just wish the manufacturer of the Drinkwell Big Dog Waterer would encorporate some kind of prefilter to lengthen the life of these filters along with the pump.
Just my two cents.

Not much to say about the filters - they do what they're supposed to do, keeping the water much cleaner. I've noticed if I go any longer than 4 weeks between filters, my cats stop using the fountain and beg to use the sink again.
The filters are a bit expensive at my local pet store, and getting them online through Amazon is a much cheaper option. The only downside was that it took awhile - nearly 2 weeks for them to get here. When I got concerned that the retailer wasn't going to send them (I'd read other reviews saying that they took a long time and customer service wouldn't respond), I contacted customer service via email. I was pleasantly surprised to get a response the next business day saying my order was in process, and then the filters happened to arrive that same day.
So overall, good product at a good price, just don't expect them to get to you very quickly!
