This Company is a Nightmare to Work With! Jun 21, 2008
By Linda R. Hendrex
"Rubicon"
I got my Champion Juicer about 15 years ago, and LOVED it. It is a well made and versatile workhorse that does everything from grinding grain to making peanut butter. However do not be fooled by the new machines. They look the same, but the interior configuration is different. It does not work the way it is supposed to, and the company doesn't care.
Several years after I got my juicer, my mother-in-law wanted to get a better juicer than the centrifigual one she already had. Upon MY advice, she gave away her old, reliable juicer and bought a Champion. I was shocked that the motor sounded loose and rattly, and the pulp came out wet and drippy. Hardly any juice came out. It was obviously a piece of junk that was either broken, or poor quality, or both.
I called Whole Foods, where it was purchased, and they said that they did not offer any warranties on their juicers. They advised me to contact Champion directly. When I called the Champion company, the person who answered the phone was rude and defensive. She said that they had "upgraded" the unit, and that the noise simply reflected the "better" motor. She flatly denied that the machine could possibly be defective, and she said that the company policy does not allow refunds. She claimed that we must be doing something wrong - it didn't matter that I already owned one and knew how it was supposed to work. My only choice was to ship this extremely heavy machine back to California (AT MY OWN EXPENSE), or accept it as is!
So my unfortunate mother-in-law had given away her good juicer, and was stuck with one that barely worked. It languished in her cupboard for a long time, unused. Now, several years later, she is caring for a sick family member, and desperately needs fresh juice. We lugged it out, thinking that it was better than nothing, but when we plugged it in today, it wouldn't even turn on. The machine is totally dead, and she did not even get a single full glass of juice from it! Of course, the company claims that "nothing is wrong with the machine".
My suggestion is that if you want a good juicer, buy an Omega, or purchase a used Champion that is more than 15 years old.

best kitchen tool i've ever purchased Jan 18, 2008
By J. Sack

I've owned this juicer for 8 years, and have never had a problem. Of course, I only juice apples, oranges, carrots, grapefruit, ginger, and beets, so I do not know how stuff like spinach, broccoli, wheatgrass, and the sort turn out. Clean-up involves brushing off 5 parts, which takes about one minute. Just buy a nylon bristle brush, make sure to use only warm water (never hot so as not to mis-shape the pieces), and clean immediately after use. To give you an idea of how economical this machine is, and juicing in general: yesterday, i bought an 18 pound bag of Texas Rio Red grapefruit for $6. There were 21 grapefruit, large and very juicy. I used 4 this morning to make three large beer mug-size glasses. That is 29 cents times 4, for a total of $1.20, approximately. $1.20 divided by 3 glasses is 40 cents. Very good compared to $3 or $4 at a juice shop, where they are normally adding apple juice from concentrate or ice. I just hope mine goes 27 years like the other reviewer's.

Champion Juicer Aug 04, 2007
By Trixie This is possibly the best juicer on the market. I have owned mine for twenty-seven (27) years! I have never had a problem with it, and it has aided me in improving my health. I beg to differ with the other reviewer, as I juice wheatgrass fairly often, with no trouble.

Heats the juice, clogs up easily Sep 17, 2009
By S. Stepanyan
"Shopper from LA"
Heats the juice up unless you juice very, very slowly with lots of breaks in between. Clogs up easily when juicing parsley and/or celery. Needs cleaning after every bunch of celery, the blade gets completely covered with parsley stem strings and needs to be cleaned by hand. All the reasons I bought this juicer for, are not there. May be it juices carrot and apple well, but I don't care. I feel totally let down.

Worst Customer Service - Won't replace defective Juicer May 06, 2010
By George2000

I bought a champion juicer couple of weeks ago. It produced very little amount of juice. I called the company about the problem on the juicer. They asked many questions and finally I was told to sent back the juicer and them will replace it. The customer return department manager called me and told me that they will not replace it since it was a old model. I told him that I just bought it few week ago and it has 5 year warranty on it. The manager still would not replace it for me. I asked him: "is this mean that the 5 year warranty means nothing?" He didn't have a word and just told me that he won't replace it for me anyway.
I called back the company couple of minutes later. A lady anwsered the phone. She seems know who I was. She told me the same thing. She said they tested the juicer and nothing wrong. I said:"I am operating the juicer right and very little juicer came out, I don't think I don't know how to use a juicer" But she keep saying that the juicer was tested fine and they will not replace it for me.
So, don't buy Champion juicer! The warranty on it doesn't mean anything. and it doesn't work!
