From the supplier: Effective pool maintenance focuses on water chemistry, filtration and cleaning. Adequate attention to these three areas of concern can help property managers lessen their pool-related problems and the expensive repairs that they may entail. Ensuring that the water chemistry is right involves keeping the pH level of the water between 7.2 and 7.6, and using the right amount of chlorine. Using clean filters can ensure the cleanliness and clarity of the water, minimize the need for chemicals, and extend the equipment's life. Finally, an effective pool-cleaning program involves keeping the water level at the mid-point of the skimmer opening; removing all debris from the water surface, the skimmer and pump strainers, the pool floor and the pool walls; cleaning filters when necessary; using chemicals when needed; and checking equipment to see if they are properly functioning.
